This year, we’re celebrating International Women’s Day in a brand new way and we’re so proud of the excitement and support our 2021 #IWD campaign has inspired!
120 nominations have been received for bloody great women – and what a fantastic way to #ChooseToChallenge and celebrate women’s achievements. Now each of these nominees can proudly say “I’m a Bloody Great Woman” – and they have a Certificate to prove it!
“Today we’re so proud to release our first ever International Women’s Day Honour Roll,” says Susan MacGregor, Chair, The Bloody Great Committee.
“Our bloody great women are listed in the order of receipt of their nominations and each and every one of them has had a positive impact on their family, friends and community. They are clearly much-loved women!
“Congratulations to these bloody great women and our sincere thank you to those of you who nominated them by making a $30 tax-deductible donation towards our bloody great cause,” she says.
Donations and raffle ticket sales saw a total of $19,761 raised this International Women’s Day! All funds raised will go towards the world-leading blood cancer clinical trials at Concord Hospital, giving more patients a greater hope for a cure and better quality of life.
Our fundraising supports clinical research nurses – the more nurses, the more patients that can participate in these lifesaving trials and access innovative medicines long before they are publicly available.
