21 November 2021Haematology Clinical Trials Research Unit receives $230,000!
24 March 2023The Foundation for a Bloody Great Cause congratulates Professor Judith Trotman, Head of Haematology Concord hospital and one of our Foundation Directors, who was recently in Madrid receiving the global Peter S. Bing Award for Humanitarianism and Activism on behalf of patients with the rare lymphoma, Waldenström Macrogobulinaemia. When she wasn’t busy with the Committee preparing for a Bloody Great Night out, or caring for her patients and the team of committed clinicians at Concord, Professor Judith led the global development of the novel enzyme inhibitors providing an effective chemo–free option for patients with this type of lymphoma. She and her Fellow, Dr Ibrahim Tohidi-Esfahani also established the WhiMSICAL global patient registry with patient-derived data from more than 650 patients with this rare lymphoma. This registry has received funding support from the Foundation for A Bloody Great Cause.
Congratulations Judith, a tireless and talented champion for blood cancer clinical trials at Concord Hospital. We also acknowledge her role as the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group, Australia’s leading blood cancer investigator-initiated clinical trials group.
The Foundation is very proud to support you and your medical teams in providing innovative world class therapies locally.
